Fort De Soto Pelican Show

For those of you that do not know, Fort De Soto was named America's Top Beach for the last two years. It is well known for it's white sand, calm clear water. Unfortunately with the state budget cuts the grassy areas are beginning to look more natural since no maintenance is sparse. But there are still some really cool things to photograph in the way of birds and landscape. The Habitat area is really beginning to look so much better on North Beach and yesterday, tons of Egrets of all descriptions along with the migrating shore birds were in excess.

Now I do not typically photograph many Pelicans but as I was making my way back from the end of North Beach these four Pelicans were putting on quite a show for me and it was a must that oblige them by making the most of some Kodak moments.

These four were headed my way and one by one they would drop in the water. Up again and repeating the same process.

Tons of bird activity today. I think the Egrets are getting ready for mating season but I need to check on that. Since they were so plentiful it must be the reason.
